The Lantern Festival

**The Lantern Festival**

Every year, the Lantern Festival lights up the night sky in Jin's small town. Families gather, and colorful lanterns float above like stars. This year, Jin, a 16-year-old artist, stands at a crossroads.

His parents want him to become a doctor, a safe and respected career. "You will have a good life," his mother often says. But Jin's heart beats for art. He loves to paint and dream. As he watches families prepare their lanterns, he feels the weight of expectations.

"Jin, are you ready?" his father calls. Jin looks at his blank lantern. He has an idea.

"I need a moment," he replies. He steps away, finding a quiet spot. With a deep breath, he picks up a brush and paints a beautiful dragon on his lantern. It represents his dreams, full of color and life.

When he returns, his parents see the lantern. "What is this?" his father asks, surprised.

"It's my dream," Jin replies, his voice steady. "I want to be an artist."

His parents exchange looks. Slowly, his mother smiles. "If this is your passion, we will support you."

As night falls, Jin releases his lantern. It rises high, shining brightly. He feels lighter, free to be himself. This Lantern Festival marks a new beginning for Jin, one where he honors his true self.
