The Language Barrier
**The Language Barrier**
In a small conference room, the team gathered for their weekly meeting. Among them was Mia, a new hire from Brazil. She smiled nervously, not fully understanding the English being spoken.
"Can everyone share their ideas?" asked Tom, the team leader. Mia listened closely but felt lost. She wanted to contribute, but the words were difficult to catch.
Noticing her struggle, Sarah, a kind coworker, leaned closer. "Mia," she said gently, "let me help you." She grabbed a whiteboard marker and began to draw simple diagrams.
"This is our goal," Sarah explained, sketching a target. "And these are the steps to get there." Mia watched closely, her eyes lighting up.
As Sarah spoke slowly and pointed to her drawings, Mia began to understand. "Ah, I see!" she exclaimed, her face brightening.
The other team members smiled, happy to see the connection. Tom added, "Great teamwork, Sarah!"
In that moment, the language barrier faded, replaced by understanding and support. Mia felt included, knowing she was part of the team, not just a newcomer.
