The Kite Runner
**The Kite Runner**
On a breezy afternoon, a young boy named Sam stood on the beach. He held a bright red kite in his hands. The wind was strong, but he had trouble making it fly. “Come on, kite! You can do it!” he shouted.
An old man walked by and smiled. “Do you need help, young man?” he asked. Sam looked up and nodded. “Yes, please! I can’t get it to fly.”
The old man knelt beside Sam. “Let me show you,” he said. “Hold the string tight and run when the wind blows.” Sam listened carefully.
Together, they ran along the sand. The kite lifted into the sky! “Look!” Sam shouted with joy. The old man laughed. “I remember my kite from when I was a boy. It flew just like yours!”
As they watched the kite dance in the sky, Sam felt happy. He learned more than just how to fly a kite. He felt a connection with the old man.
